Introduction
Crayon's Cloud-IQ and Prism are used by 3,000+ IT resellers to buy, provision, and bill their end-user clients for monthly cloud software subscriptions. Billing Sync automatically transfers product and billing-related information from your Cloud-IQ/PRISM invoices to your Professional Services Automation (PSA) system using a secure sync engine. This connectivity eliminates your need to manually create and update the final invoices before sending them to your customers.
Billing Sync can sync all monthly products in the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program, including Azure.
Billing Sync currently allows you to connect your Cloud-iQ/Prism Portal account through to the following list of PSA Systems:
- Connectwise
- AutoTask
- Syncro
Prerequisites for setting up Billing Sync
Billing Sync requires the following to work:-
- An active PSA account (This Knowledge Base will walk you through the steps to so), configured
- An active Microsoft CSP Agreement with Crayon through the Cloud-IQ and PRISM Portal
How it works
Billing Sync makes use of the API of both the sources (Cloud-iQ & Prism) and target PSAs.
During Connections setup, Billing Sync will obtain the list of active clients/customers using the source API and the agreement/contract using the PSAs' API.
This allows Billing Sync users to map the source billing data to the target agreement/contract in the PSAs.
It is important to note that, Billing Sync works using billing data/invoices, not live changes made on the Cloud-iQ/Prism. This ensures that the charges updated into the PSAs are consistent with what Crayon is charging to on Channel partners in terms of usage/quantity.
As preliminary steps, the source API credentials must be created.
