Please see below the list of commonly used terminology you may see within Billing Sync and/or PSA systems. Any terminology that is specific to a PSA system rather than a collective for all PSA Systems will be called out within the title of the terminology.
Addition (ConnectWise)
ConnectWise - An addition represents the use of a product or service for a period of time, and specifies the quantity and price. Microsoft CSP Subscriptions will map to one or more addition records under ConnectWise.
Agreement (ConnectWise)
A contract agreement. The agreement holds all of the billing terms and invoice configuration data in one area.
Contract (AutoTask)
A contract holds all of the billing term and invoice configuration data in one area.
Cost Unit Price
Partner Buy Unit Price
Connector
The system facilitating the data flow from the Source to Target (Billing Sync)
Customer/s
The reseller/partner's end customers
License/Service
A product that sits under a Program Plan. i.e. Microsoft 365 E3 under Microsoft CSP
Partner
A reseller using Crayon to sell to an end customer
Cloud-IQ
Crayon Platform for Recurring Subscription Management (“Cloud-IQ”)
PRISM
Crayon Platform for Recurring Subscription Management (“PRISM”)
Product
A service sold to a customer
Product ID
A unique identifier under a program to identify a product
PSA
Professional service automation, referring to the tools like ConnectWise and Autotask
Retail Unit Price
Partner Sell Unit Price (Customer Buy Unit Price)
Source
The system providing the Product and Invoice data (Cloud-IQ & PRISM)
Subscription
The subscription is an agreement under a specific tenant for use of a Microsoft CSP cloud service
Sync
A daily job that checks if a new invoice is available, if there is a new invoice the synchronisation will add any line item on the invoice for the given customer
Target
The destination PSA (Datto Autotask or ConnectWise Manage)
Tenant
The tenant is the regional location that houses the servers providing cloud services.
